This cozy jacket offers 10k of waterproofing and breathability, and a poly fill insulated body and sleeves, all for an affordable price. No need for fancy mumbo-jumbo, this jacket has all the essentials, like mesh-lined underarm vents to release heat when you need extra airflow, an adjustable hood for comfort, and tricot lined pockets to keep your hands nice and toasty. Volcom even installed their Zip Tech® interface that allows you to zip your jacket to any pair of compatible Volcom pants to seal out the cold and snow.
Critically Taped - On outerwear with critically taped seams you only have taping at the key points where potential leakage can occur. This is acceptable, or even advantageous if you live in a dry climate, if you're more concerned with breathability than dealing with wet weather then outerwear featuring critically taped seams is the way to go.
Polyester Fill - Polyester insulation may not be as warm or light as down, but it's far easier to clean and performs better in wet conditions. If cost is a concern or you live in a wet climate then polyester insulation might be your best option.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
Zip Tech® Jacket to Pant Interface - Nothing lowers motivation faster than snow jammed down your pants and up the back of your jacket. A V-Co patented invention Zip Tech® allows you to zip the powder skirt of any Volcom jacket to any Volcom pant, keeping snow out and heat in with no restriction of movement.
