Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.

Polyester Fill - Polyester insulation may not be as warm or light as down, but it's far easier to clean and performs better in wet conditions. If cost is a concern or you live in a wet climate then polyester insulation might be your best option.

Insulation Rating (g)

Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.

InfiDRY® 2-Layer Construction - 686 2-Layer InfiDRY® fabric is perfect for daily use in a wide range of conditions. Specialty fabrics are laminated and bonded to a Polyurethane (PU) InfiDRY® membrane on the underside of the fabric. This membrane blocks water and snow from entering your garment, yet is hydrophilic on the inside - attracting any moisture inside your jacket (sweat) and moving it through to the outside of the fabric where it is able to evaporate, thus keeping you both dry and warm.

For further protection, the laminated fabric is then coated on the exterior with a water resistant DWR coating to repel snow and water from penetrating the fabric. This creates a superior fabric with a one-way portal for moisture that is virtually impenetrable from the outside, yet allows your body’s sweat to evaporate and pass through the fabric from the

inside out creating a more comfortable riding experience.

Thermagraph Strategic Insulation - Scientifically positioned insulation panels are strategically placed to keep you warmer where your body needs it most, at your core, while still allowing maximum breathability and flexibility of your jacket.

A: 60g Hyperfresh or Down insulation for added warmth around vital organs

B: Breathable zones around insulation for temperature regulation

C: 60g Hyperfresh insulation for added warmth around knee and shoulder joint

D: 60g Hyperfresh insulation for added seat warmth

Vader Vent at Collar - A jacket hood with a more technically constructed laminated and perforated front collar venting system.

YKK AquaGuard Waterproof Zippers - The world's most trusted waterproof zipper. YKK AquaGuard zippers ensure smooth movement and water resistance out in the elements.

Media Pocket - A jacket lining pocket for one's music playing device with two points of entry being 1) its internal zipper opening or 2) its exterior welt opening.

686 GLCR Hydra Thermagraph Jacket - real tree
Perfect amount of insulation. I feel like the waterproofing is not goretex but quite adequate. Stretch material would make it better. Good buy

686 GLCR Hydra Thermagraph Jacket - black twill color block
Solid jacket, keeps me dry in the coastal snow. Fit is great with plenty of room for layering if needed. Its a pretty warm jacket, without being too warm on those mild days.

686 GLCR Hydra Thermagraph Jacket - blue bird twill color block
Despite it being mostly a shell, it will keep you warm because it has some insulation. It will also keep you quite dry. Runs a bit large, but it's not bad if you're layering. Has plenty of pockets for your stuff, the pocket on the sleeve is useful to keep your lift pass.

686 GLCR Hydra Thermagraph Jacket - black twill color block
The jack has everything you would want. Comfy, roomy, pockets galore, warmth where you need it and good looking. The only gripe I have is with the zipper since it's one of those dual type zippers where if you wanted, you can just release the bottom a little bit. The fitment is off and takes me multiple times to try and get it all to go upwards.

686 GLCR Hydra Thermagraph Jacket
Great jacket! I love everything about this jacket. I'm 5'11", 168lb. I ordered a large. The medium fit ok, but this gives me a little extra room to layer and freedom of movement and despite that is not baggy. I think they run slightly small, but depends on how you like your fit. Minimalistic jacket with a few cool extra features. Only gripe is the powder skirt is a little bigger than needed. When snapped, it is still quite loose around my lower waist. Therefore it doesn't really make a tight seal to keep our snow. Not a big deal and overall very happy.

686 GLCR Hydra Thermagraph Jacket - cobalt colorblock
Just got back from a vaca where temps ran from 4-38 degrees, and only changed layering under jacket to suit the temps. The Thermagraph insulation works like a dream. I'm 5'11"/190 and size L was roomy enough for 3 layers on the coldest day. Couldn't be happier.
