Overview

This tried and true, mid-flex freestyle setup is an instant win for beginners and advanced park riders alike due to its plethora of technical features and smooth flat with rocker profile. The Ultrafear comes stocked with a Holysheet™ fiberglass configuration combined with Magic Bean™ resin for added strength and pop, and a P2 Superlight Core™ to keep the weight down. To take its durability to the next level, CAPiTA uses an abrasion resistant Superdrive™ base and Kevlar/Titanal body Armor™ so you can hit rails and jibs without completely destroying your board. The Ultrafear has seen more screen time than any other Capita board and wins awards pretty much every year, so evidence states you're in for a killer ride.

Key Features

Freedom V1 Profile - These versatile boards feature a dual reverse camber Flat Kick freestyle shape. A zero camber section throughout the insert area provides a stable skate-style feel, while elevated contact points turn on a time and float effortlessly in powder.

Radial Sidecut - Radial sidecut is a single radius design causing your board to start and finish a turn on the same arc.

Core

P2 Superlight Core™ - The P2 Superlight core was built for a high performance return of energy in a lightweight and versatile core. From razor sharp turns on demand, to huge ollies, this core was engineered with all-terrain technical freestyle riding in mind. Comprised of an even mix of poplar and paulownia, it is strong enough to meet the needs of the Black Death customer while saving considerable weight.

Ultrafear Core Profile
Laminates

Holysheet™ Fiberglass - Holysheet™ Fiberglass features fiber weaves with a high tensile strength and low modulus of elasticity. With a higher roving count in the same weight of glass, you can have a stronger and more responsive board without adding extra weight. Triaxial fiberglass is placed on top of the core and Biaxial fiberglass beneath, creating a perfectly blended ride while increasing strength and durability.

Kevlar/Titanal Body Armor - Kevlar is an organic fiber with high strength, toughness and thermal stability that shows no embrittlement or degradation at sub-zero temperatures. Applied to the shoulders of the board along with high compression strength titanal alloy through the centerline, this Body Armor takes durability and dependability to the next level.

Titanal Base Inlay - Titanal is a high strength, hardened aluminum wrought alloy with excellent compression strength-to-weight ratios, making it a perfect top core structural reinforcement. These 20 millimeter Titanal Struts resist longitudinal compression contributing more power to these popular, easy to ride models.

Base

Superdrive™ Base - The new standard in sintered base material, this UHMWPE is precision forged for high abrasion resistance and a super smooth glide.

Details

360° Steel Edges - CAPiTA uses a full wrap steel edge that goes all the way around the board to add bomber protection to the tips and tails from impact damage.

1.5mm Cork Edge Damping System - Damp, durable and lighter than rubber, Cork is placed in between the steel edge and the ABS sidewall for increased protection from blunt force impacts. This exclusive damping system is applied underfoot where the board contacts rails.

Full ABS Sidewalls - ABS is an opaque thermoplastic polymer that is strong and durable even at low temperatures, making it ideal for snowboarding. It makes your board more stable at speeds and is impact resistant on rails and boxes.

PLT Topsheet Technology - PLT Topsheet Technology adheres to the board without using toxic and heavy lacquer to maintain vibrant and rich graphics on the board.

2 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 2 years from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.

Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.

Magic Bean™ Resin - This resin system is poppy, powerful, and extremely durable. Magic Bean™ resin yields much stronger and more rigid qualities allowing CAPiTA to decrease the wood core thickness. With a focus on saving wood core weight by increasing resin performance you get a lighter board while achieving higher energy return.

Fun - soft with noticeable rocker

CAPiTA Ultrafear Snowboard
Really fun board. I have ridden flat boards for a while, so beware if that is your aim, you can definitely notice the reverse camber outside the bolts.

I found that it felt a bit softer than mid flex - maybe due to the reverse camber. For a 55, it feels very maneuverable and soft - doesn't do too bad in some deep snow either.

Capita Ultrafear Snowboard
honestly I could have went with a shorter board if it was just solely for the park. however at 6 feet and weighing 175 the 155 held up better at higher speeds. This is a great board and the graphic is sick... too bad i won't be able to say the same for this years ultrafear's graphic.

Capita Ultrafear Snowboard
I got this board for free riding and freestyle in the park. It delivers. Plenty of pop and very playful. It's also great all mountain and holds an edge and speed when needed.

Capita Ultrafear Snowboard - 155 top / white base
I got this board for rails and boxes and small jumps. I'm 170 lbs and the 151 is good and flexible and it is still stiff enough for the landings. I like having a sintered base, it's more durable and I've never had luck fixing the extruded bases. The board is expensive but if you can get it on sale it is a great jib board. I would also get the 155 for larger jumps. I hope they go away from the collage graphic style in the future.
