There's a reason GoPro is the go-to brand when it comes to recording yourself in often precarious or dangerous situations, and with these additions you'll be able to record unreal looking footage with the ultra wide angle glass lens. Now to the tech stuff.
Offering twice the resolution of 1080p, you can now record in glorious 4k at the traditional 30 frames per second, while also giving you the option to record in 1080p at up to 90 frames per second. The other impressive thing is this camera can now take 12 megapixel RAW image files, which means you essentially have full control over how you edit them. They also offer a higher dynamic range so they handle better in low light scenarios. Read below for even more tech, they've gone all out on this.
4k Video - 4k video offers twice the resolution of normal 1080p HD video. It does 4k at 30 FPS, 1440p at 60 FPS and 1080p at 90 FPS. What this translates to is incredible clarity and detail in your footage.
You also get manual control over the exposure settings with the on-screen exposure control option.
12MP Photos - This camera offers 12MP images with the option to save in RAW format, which essentially gives you full control over how you edit these. This is what's typically found on DSLRs, and now it's on your tiny GoPro. But if you don't want to deal with the more common JPG format is still an option, and it's also takes photos in 12MP.
This can also perform in burst mode at 30 FPS and has a time lapse function, through the burst mode you'll be able to capture what amounts to video (30 frames per second) but with a 12MP resolution.
33ft (10M) Waterproof Rating - Hopefully you never drop this in the water, but even without a waterproof case this will be able to handle it down to 33 feet.
2-inch Touch Display - Preview and play back your shots, change settings and even trim footage all on your GoPro.
Advanced Wind Noise Reduction - No one wants too much noise in their footage, but that can be hard when you're bombing hills like a mad man, luckily GoPro initiated this technology to handle the issue. Using internal algorithms, the HERO5 Session can reduce artifacts from wind noise, making audio quality more acceptable, even in extreme circumstances.
Audio - Advanced audio processing through the use of 3 microphones, and captured in full stereo. It also comes with a built-in speaker.
GPS - Keep track of the specific locations where your photos and video are taken.
One-Button Control - With a single press of the shutter, the button powers the camera on and starts recording automatically.
Microphone Port - A mic input will take your production value to a whole new level.
Voice Control - This technology gives you hands-free control over your device with simple voice commands.
Video Stabilization - Too much shake can ruin a shot, luckily for you GoPro is on it and you'll be able to capture stunningly smooth video whether you're recording in your hand or mounted to your gear.
Wi-Fi + Bluetooth - Combined with a GoPro Plus subscription you'll be able to automatically upload photos and videos directly to the cloud for easy viewing, editing and sharing.
