When looking for your first board, you'll hear the term 'rocker' thrown around a bunch. This board uses rocker, which looks like a banana, in between your feet to make turning easier and to give you float so the nose doesn't sink into the snow. This board also uses elliptical camber, the opposite of rocker, under your feet so you don't feel like you are on a noodle and you can still send it off kickers. The twin shape and flex allows you to start riding switch from day one and serves you well for everything from park riding to some out-of-bound runs. You'll also find carving a line through packed groomers possible courtesy of Magne-Traction, Lib's serrated knife edge action. Aspen, Columbian Gold, and Paulownia woods are used in the core because not only are they lightweight and lively, they're also part of Lib Tech's commitment to use renewable resources. A bio-bean topsheet seals the deal, giving this eco-friendly board a chip-resistant finishing touch. Even if this is your 10th board, you'll love how playful and creative you are when you ride the Attack Banana.
C2E Banana Rocker/Elliptical Camber Profile - This is Mervin's top of the line freestyle blend that performs halfway between original Banana Tech and C2. Rocker between your feet blended with elliptical camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a medium amount of pressure to the tip and tail. This provides end-to-end stability and pop while maintaining great float and catch-free freestyle.
Magne-Traction Serrated Edges - Award-winning Magne-Traction features strategically placed bumps that create seven contact points along each side of your sidecut. This increases edge hold and allows for knife-like carves without the hook. Magne-Traction is a perfect complement to Banana Rocker and helps increase grip and control.
Horsepower Construction (HP) - Lighter and smoother than Original Power Construction, in the HP construction Ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) materials are used in the sidewalls and tip/tail serving to deflect impacts and smooth out your ride. Overall this construction is considered light, environmentally nice, and smooth.
Note: The HP+ construction adds bamboo risers underneath the binding area for more efficient energy transfer throughout the board.
Handbuilt in the USA - Every Lib Tech board is handmade by snowboarders with jobs in the USA.
Aspen Wood - Light, strong, lively, fast growing, heat treated for maximum pop and long life.
Columbian Gold Wood - A lightweight, renewable wood core with loads of pop! This core provides increased response for precise turns when carving.
Paulownia Wood - Ultra light, strong, long lively fibers.
Birch Internal Sidewalls - Rugged, lightweight, vertical end grain Birch internal sidewalls add pop and durability where you need it when things get hard.
Bi-axial Fiberglass - This 2-way fiber orientation is engineered to increase snap and decrease chatter.
Tri-axial Fiberglass - This 3-way fiber orientation is engineered to provide maximum snap while decreasing chatter.
Basalt Fiber Reinforcement - Basalt is volcanic rock produced in a clean, pure process consisting of high heat without toxic additives. Not only is it safer for humans, it’s easier to recycle. Basalt fiber has strength properties much higher than fiberglass and better damping properties for a smooth ride.
TNT Base - TNT is a dual Fluoropolymer extruded base infused with Titanium and Teflon. A Lib Tech favorite for its durability, this is Lib Tech's fastest unwaxed base. TNT can be waxed less than a sintered base and will stay fast longer. Not as high maintenance as sintered, yet offers comparable performance.
Bio-Plastic Bean Topsheet - Lib Tech has made a commitment to using a new earth friendly, bio-plastic top skin made from beans that feature the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any top sheet in the industry.
UHMW Sintered Sidewalls - A Lib Tech innovation that is twice as sintered as most industry sidewalls. This ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) material increases durability, response and control for easier riding.
Mervin Made: EnvironMENTAL Construction - All Lib Tech snowboards are handcrafted by Mervin Manufacturing in the USA near Canada!
Mervin has been environmentally aware from the beginning - 25+ years!
No cancer-causing toxic automotive lacquer clearcoats.
Soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic ABS.
Made using renewable forest products for all snowboard cores. Fast growing trees have long fibers and natural pop. Wood is nature's fiberglass!
Made with only low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy resin systems. Mervin's resin doesn't stink or make you dizzy.
Mervin uses water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels.
The Mervin Factory has 2700% air replacement ventilation systems.
All wood sawdust is recycled as soil additive, plus scrap wood is donated to a local Mood Wood company that packages it as kindling and resells it.
All scrap plastics (base cutouts, etc) are recycled and then reground to make new materials.
Water-based solvents used for cleansing (instead of petrochemical-based solvents).
Canola-based biodiesel heats the Mervin factory and is a renewable resource.
1 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.
Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.
