Overview
The Lib Tech Retro BTX Skate Banana sports the same graphic as the first edition that debuted in 2006. Though not the first to feature rocker, the board's BTX Banana profile is credited with revolutionizing snowboarding. The magic of Banana tech starts with rocker between your feet to dramatically improve float for easier carving. Flat sections from your bindings to the contact points boosts pop and control. As always, Lib’s signature Magne-Traction delivers the time-tested edge hold for carving or maneuvering ice.

To sweeten the deal even more, Lib added a lightning-fast sintered base so you can cake on wax for top speed. The Skate Banana continues to be the best shred stick for ripping around resorts and floating over powder. If you haven’t experienced what a Banana can do, now is the best time. With a decade under its belt and no sign of slowing down, this is the preferred snow stick for beginners to seasoned pros.

Key Features

BTX Banana Rocker Profile - Mervin's revolutionary original all terrain freestyle banana blend. Rocker between your feet blended with flat-to-mild camber to contact points. Focuses pressure between your feet for easy turns, great edge hold on ice and a mild amount of pressure to the tip and tail for excellent float and catch-free freestyle.

Magne-Traction Serrated Edges - Award-winning Magne-Traction features strategically placed bumps that create seven contact points along each side of your sidecut. This increases edge hold and allows for knife-like carves without the hook. Magne-Traction is a perfect complement to Banana Rocker and helps increase grip and control.

Handbuilt in the USA - Every Lib Tech board is handmade by snowboarders with jobs in the USA.

Core

Aspen Wood - Light, strong, lively, fast growing, heat treated for maximum pop and long life.

Columbian Gold Wood - A lightweight, renewable wood core with loads of pop! This core provides increased response for precise turns when carving.

Birch Internal Sidewalls - Rugged, lightweight, vertical end grain Birch internal sidewalls add pop and durability where you need it when things get hard.

Laminates

Bi-axial Fiberglass - This 2-way fiber orientation is engineered to increase snap and decrease chatter.

Tri-axial Fiberglass - This 3-way fiber orientation is engineered to provide maximum snap while decreasing chatter.

Base

Sintered Base - This durable base has excellent wax retention thanks to its high porosity. For best results, wax with One Ball Jay.

Details

Eco-Sub PBT Top Sheet - Sounds technical right? It just means the top sheet is made from sublimated polyester material that's great for vibrant yet durable graphics, which means a long lasting image. When the graphics are as good as Gnu's you'll be glad you have it.

UHMW Sintered Sidewalls - A Lib Tech innovation that is twice as sintered as most industry sidewalls. This ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) material increases durability, response and control for easier riding.

Mervin Made: EnvironMENTAL Construction - All Lib Tech snowboards are handcrafted by Mervin Manufacturing in the USA near Canada!

Mervin has been environmentally aware from the beginning - 25+ years!

No cancer-causing toxic automotive lacquer clearcoats.

Soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic ABS.

Made using renewable forest products for all snowboard cores. Fast growing trees have long fibers and natural pop. Wood is nature's fiberglass!

Made with only low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy resin systems. Mervin's resin doesn't stink or make you dizzy.

Mervin uses water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels.

The Mervin Factory has 2700% air replacement ventilation systems.

All wood sawdust is recycled as soil additive, plus scrap wood is donated to a local Mood Wood company that packages it as kindling and resells it.

All scrap plastics (base cutouts, etc) are recycled and then reground to make new materials.

Water-based solvents used for cleansing (instead of petrochemical-based solvents).

Canola-based biodiesel heats the Mervin factory and is a renewable resource.

1 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.

Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.
