Overview

Designed by Travis Rice and the experiMENTAL team, the Gold Member Split is a lightweight, directional board that pushes the envelope of what a splitboard can do. With everything from the light and snappy wood core and Karakoram Ultra Clips to the strong Basalt Fiber Reinforcement, this board is dialed in for any mid to pro level freerider that wants to max their backcountry ride time. The versatile C2X hybrid profile fuses rocker, for easy turn initiation and float, with camber for pop and control. The Firepower (FP) core is Lib's smoothest construction thanks to ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) materials around the edges and naturally shock absorbing woods like Balsa that help keep your ride smooth, even over rough terrain. If you're looking for an advanced splitboard that handles it all, the Gold Member has you covered.

Key Features

C2X Power Banana Rocker/Camber Profile - A new formula of C2 with a short, but aggressive Banana rocker combined with cambers that sit underfoot. Extra solid tip and tail pressure for power, pop, precision and end-to-end stability combined with a medium amount of pressure between your feet for carving and edge hold on ice and float in pow.

Magne-Traction Serrated Edges - Award-winning Magne-Traction features strategically placed bumps that create seven contact points along each side of your sidecut. This increases edge hold and allows for knife-like carves without the hook. Magne-Traction is a perfect complement to Banana Rocker and helps increase grip and control.

Firepower Construction (FP) - Travis Rice’s new lower spin weight tip and tail construction … combines extended core, thinner tip/tail profile reinforced with UHMW material for impact deflection, carbon stiffening, and end grain Balsa Tech from Lib's Cygnus X1. This is Lib's smoothest construction because of its TNT base, ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) sintered sidewalls, and lightweight core woods like the added balsa wood in the center of the board to shed a few ounces, increasing your air-time and reducing leg fatigue.

Usually found on their higher-end boards, this is Lib's smoothest construction that remains lighter and environmentally nicer than their OP or HP constructions.

Handbuilt in the USA - Every Lib Tech board is handmade by snowboarders with jobs in the USA.

Core

Aspen Wood - Light, strong, lively, fast growing, heat treated for maximum pop and long life.

Paulownia Wood - Ultra light, strong, long lively fibers.

Balsa - Excellent shock absorption and the lightest of all commercial woods, Balsa is used in key points of the core. Its strength to weight ratio is unparalleled.

Birch Internal Sidewalls - Rugged, lightweight, vertical end grain Birch internal sidewalls add pop and durability where you need it when things get hard.

Laminates

Tri-axial Fiberglass - This 3-way fiber orientation is engineered to increase snap and decrease vibrations for a smoother, more stable ride.

Basalt Fiber Reinforcement - Basalt is volcanic rock produced in a clean, pure process consisting of high heat without toxic additives. Not only is it safer for humans, it’s easier to recycle. Basalt fiber has strength properties much higher than fiberglass and better damping properties for a smooth ride.

Base

Eco Sublimated Co-Sintered Base - Fast, tough, and holds wax so your days in the park or out in a more urban environment stay lit from the first trick to the last. Less time adding wax or doing repairs means more time snowboarding, and that's all anyone really wants, right?

Details

Bio-Plastic Bean Topsheet - Lib Tech has made a commitment to using a new earth friendly, bio-plastic top skin made from beans that feature the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any top sheet in the industry.

UHMW Sintered Sidewalls - A Lib Tech innovation that is twice as sintered as most industry sidewalls. This ultra high molecular weight (UHMW) material increases durability, response and control for easier riding.

1 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear expected from aggressive riding.

Sorry folks, but bashing your board on a rock or rail does not qualify as a "manufacturer's defect" and will not be honored.

Mervin Made: EnvironMENTAL Construction - All Lib Tech snowboards are handcrafted by Mervin Manufacturing in the USA near Canada. Mervin has been environmentally aware from the beginning - 25+ years. No cancer-causing toxic automotive lacquer clearcoats. Soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic ABS. Made using renewable forest products for all snowboard cores. Fast growing trees have long fibers and natural pop. Wood is nature's fiberglass. Made with only low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy resin systems. Mervin's resin doesn't stink or make you dizzy. Mervin uses water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborne particulate levels. The Mervin Factory has 2700% air replacement ventilation systems. All wood sawdust is recycled as soil additive, plus scrap wood is donated to a local Mood Wood company that packages it as kindling and resells it. All scrap plastics (base cutouts, etc) are recycled and then reground to make new materials. Water-based solvents used for cleansing (instead of petrochemical-based solvents). Canola-based biodiesel heats the Mervin factory and is a renewable resource.
