Your favorite power fish has just been filleted into a fast climbing adventure vehicle; featuring the same long nose and wide body that everybody loves with even more backcountry capabilites. Whale tail technology offers power and pop and maximizes contact for agile maneuvers in steep and tight technical terrain while the ultra-light SC construction moves well through gravitational forces. A rugged, fast sintered base, 3-D integrated tip inserts and Karakouram ultra clips round out this whale of a split board.

Features

Profile

C2X Rocker/Camber Profile - Utilizing a shortened rocker section between your feet, with lengthened camber towards the tip and tail. Mervin's C2X profile provides unrivaled stability and landing gear while maintaining float and precision on powder and hardpack.

Control / Precision / Float

Core

Splitboard Construction (SC) - 5% Aspen, 95% Paulownia. In addition, the tip/tail have been slimmed down to make the board lighter.

Laminates

Bi-axial Fiberglass - This 2-way fiber orientation is engineered to provide maximum snap while decreasing chatter.

Tri-axial Fiberglass - This 3-way fiber orientation is engineered to increase snap and decrease vibrations for a smoother, more stable ride.

Topsheet

Eco-Sub Bio Beans Topsheet - Using a new earth-friendly, bio-plastic top skin made from beans that feature the highest strength-to-weight ratio of any top sheet in the industry.

Base

Sintered Knife Cut Base - This highly durable base has excellent wax retention thanks to its high porosity.

Hardware

Karakoram Ultra Clips - Karakoram Ultra clips are low profile and easy to use. The technology in these incredibly strong clips increases compression between board halves to minimize seam shearing and rattle.

About Lib Tech

Mervin Made: EnvironMENTAL Construction - Core materials are sources from fast-growing, renewable forest products. Water-based solvents used for cleansing instead of petrochemical-based solvents. All wood sawdust is recycled as a soil additive, plus scrap wood is donated to a local Mood Wood company that packages it as kindling and resells it.

Handbuilt in the USA - Every Lib Tech board is handmade by snowboarders with jobs in the USA.

1 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 1 year from the time of purchase. Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear.

Details

Magne-Traction Serrated Edges - Strategically placed bumps that create added contact points along each edge for increased grip and control in all conditions. Turn ice into powder.

Super fun board, but de-laminated the first time using it

Lib Tech T. Rice Orca C2X Splitboard (2022 Closeout)
The contact point on the rear of the board where the skins hook onto the board started to peel the top layer of the board up. This is super frustrating because now there is a weak point where moisture can get in the board and cause further damage - and after only one use!

Other than that, the board is a ton of fun. I have always been a fan of lib-tech. The magne traction is unbeatable.
