Overview

This sweet insulated jacket will keep you cozy and dry in mad mountain weather conditions. The Faux Fur trimmed hood keeps you looking extravagant in town and unique on the slopes with warmth that never ends. The genius addition of a jacket to pant interface creates a seal against snow entry so you can slash through chest deep powder and not come out with a jacket full of snow. Elbow articulation allows you to stretch 'till your heart's content without restriction so you can tweak grabs all day with ease. Nikita took the liberty of installing a Radiant Heat Pocket right in the middle of your back so you can drop in a handwarmer on those frigid, cold days to keep your back toasty. Stay warm out there, this season, with the unmatched quality and utility of the Espan jacket.

Seams

Critically Taped - On outerwear with critically taped seams you only have taping at the key points where potential leakage can occur. This is acceptable, or even advantageous if you live in a dry climate, if you're more concerned with breathability than dealing with wet weather then outerwear featuring critically taped seams is the way to go.

Insulation Rating (g)

Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.

Nikita Espan Insulated Jacket - fired brick
Pros;
- Love the colour! Fabric is definitely waterproof, not too heavily insulated and comfy to wear on the slopes. Love the fur trim, which can be removed.
- Have worn it in conditions between 53F/ -23F and it has kept me warm and dry (with 1-2 thermal layers on underneath)
- Cut is slim, but not super skinny. I debated for ages whether to get the XS or S, but went with the S in the end because I didn't want my movement to be restricted (for reference, I'm 5"5' and 125lbs) I think I made the right decision.

Cons;
- Biggest annoyance is that the sleeves are absolutely way too long. As a result the spandex wrist gaitors flap around on my wrists/ hands. Doesn't inhibit performance, but could definitely be improved.
- Interior pockets on the back where you can put warming pouches? Weird and useless. Would much rather practical pockets on the inside left or right to store goggles/ beanie etc.

Fix these two things and this would be a 5 star jacket. It functions well and looks great which is exactly what I wanted.
