Key Features

Shock Wave Rocker Camber - More camber than any other snowboard on the market. A smaller Rocker area retains Never Summer's hallmark quick turn initiation and float.

Power Grip Sidecut - Deeper cut towards the tip and tail, to an almost completely straight section in the middle, the sidecut is cut on multiple radii for added control and response in any condition.

Core

NS Superlight Wood Core - Taking their Custom Flight Core even further, Never Summer's Superlight Wood Core blends extremely light wood with durable hardwood for unmatched strength to weight ratio.

Laminates

Bi-Lite Fiberglass - Delivers incredible freestyle and freeride performance without sacrificing durability.

STS Pretensioned Fiberglass - A pre-hardened, pre-tensioned, layered fiberglass laminate producing a stronger bond. This gives the board unmatched strength and edge hold.

Recluse Web Carbon Layup - Strategically positioned to stiffen the board at the ends for more control, less chatter.

RDS 2 Rubber Damping System - This lightweight system uses three narrower laminated damping layers that provide the perfect combinations of vibration absorption and stability.

Elastomeric Underfoot Stabilizers - Rubber pads directly below the mounting area that provide optimum vibration absorption and increase high speed stability while reducing foot fatigue.

Harmonic Tip & Tail Damper - Harmonic Dampers in the tip and tail take out a lot of vibrations in the tip and tail out of the board while keeping the board lively where it counts.

Perforated Rocker Pad - Perforated to reduce weight, these thin elastomeric pads are strategically located in the midsection of the board to absorb vibrations between the feet.

Base

Durasurf XT Sintered 5501 Base - Crown Plastics has developed an exclusive, super fast, durable sintered base. Just the right amount of graphite has been added, making it the fastest they've ever made.

Warranty

3 Year Warranty - Covered under manufacturer warranty for 3 years from the time of purchase! Warranty includes structural defects only and DOES NOT cover impact damage, abuse, misuse or normal wear and tear.

Details

Co-Extruded Polymer Topsheet - This premium topsheet is made from co-extruded polymer thermoplastic fiber and is very durable, lightweight, scratch and chip resistant.

Extended Transition Area - A flat section on the outside of the feet that helps initiate turning, float, and delivers an overall increased consistency in board-feel.

Full Wrap Metal Edges - The edges wrap entirely around the board to create a protective barrier, not only keeping you clinging to the steepest icy faces, but helping to prevent damage when you don't quite make it onto rails.

Low-Profile Tip & Tail - This maximizes material contact with the snow for more powerful ollie/nollie pop and adds stability to your landings. LPT also reduces the plowing effect in the nose for better glide to the next feature and superior float when it’s deep.

Sintered P-Tex Sidewalls - Sintered P-Tex Sidewalls maintain their integrity at any temperature offering a smoother, faster ride.

Never Summer Proto Synthesis X Snowboard
Well, i know how to ride snowboard, am 5.11', 190 lbs and got the 157X as it seemed to be the appropriate one for me after doing a month of research. The board looks awesome. I was so excited to ride it that i drove straight 6 hours to mammoth the next day. Got there at noon, strapped it on and felt it looked a little short. Then i took a few turns and wasn't too sure and then i nearly ate sh.. twice. I was like what the ... So i realized i needed to lean back quite a bit more, which was annoying, to prevent the nose from digging in in softer snow (afternoon spring). Felt like a rocker and camber combo issue because the board bends down and flares out towards the nose resulting in digging in. Which i guess makes it more aggressive for turns in hard snow conditions. It doesnt chatter at all and is stable. But I honestly was disappointed and started thinking about returning it. I borrowed my buddies Jones Flagship just before and had immediately loved the feel of it but not here. Confused and after a couple hours of adjusting bindings and trying to figure this thing out i went in to the park and started playing. I was amazed how poppy it was and easy to ride switch and in the pipe. I finally started having fun with it. I dont think its a beginner board. I rode it the next morning in super hard snow conditions and ... couldn't do much in the park cause it was hard as concrete. It was ok to ride ... Long story short i don't love it :( but I don't like returning things so i'll give it a solid season and see.
