FLIGHT™ - FLIGHT™ decks are stronger, thinner and lighter than a 7-ply. You'll get the feel of it in an hour or two and begin to realize you can do things riding a Flight deck that cannot be done on a 7-ply. Flight decks allow you to extend your limits, because they let you ollie higher, flip faster, do tricks more easily, and they don't break in two like a 7-ply.
All Powell FLIGHT™ decks are made at their factory located in Santa Barbara, California.
244 Shape - Mellow nose and tail angles allow for responsive pop and flatter, leveled out flip tricks.

Powell Peralta Flight 8.5 244 Shape Skateboard Deck - black
Love the deck. Feels great. Great pop. Very forgiving with my heavy footed landings. This is my second flight deck. Only reason I bought a new one is because of the razor tail. Then tried breaking the old one. I'm a 6ft 200 lb blue collar man and all I could do was bust the nose and tail. Then tried running it over with the truck. But it didnt break. Now it's up on the wall in the garage.
This board is strong and won’t break but it will flex so much! I skated mine for maybe a week and it has so many chips with fiberglass fibers hanging out which end up sticking in to my hand. This board is also pretty flat! Took me 30mins to get use to the flatness of it.
This board will last but it will not keep its pop and it will chip up fast! I personally would rather just buy a new board then skate a board that flexes so much.
Not worth the $80 for me.

I've had the board since Christmas and have put some heavy use on it as a 200 lb guy. The carbon fiber in the board stops it from snapping in half which is a big plus, although the board still chips relatively easily and the fibers will prick and get stuck in your hand. Like the description says, it is very lightweight and will make your tricks pop higher and rotate faster. Probably the best board i have owned in terms of pop and trick-ability. Currently, I have huge chunks chipped out of the sides of board due to impact and slight delamination, the biggest of which is about an inch thick and like 7 inches long. They do not really affect performance too much and the board is still holding up, they just look horrible and will cut up your hands / legs. Overall, the board performs really well and doesn't snap and hold its pop well, but chips really bad.
This board wont break no matter what you do to it. Super strong and looks really nice! Will likely buy this same one again in the future

Ok what are they actually made of and what's the difference with the shapes?

This board is made with traditional maple wood that most boards have, they just use much thinner ply's and stick a carbon fiber layer in the middle to give it that extra strength while keeping the board extra light. The shape is a pretty standard shape, I will say however that the nose and tail are slightly bigger compared to other boards I've been on.
