Ride Style

Freeride - Wanna get sideways? Features like smaller contact patches, a stone ground finish and rounded lips all help these wheels slide easily, right out of the cellophane.

Core Placement

Centerset - The hubs in these wheels are set equidistant from the lips, resulting in an even wear and a controlled slide.

Word to the wise: They can be rotated (like your car's tires) to promote even wear and a longer lifespan.

Wheel Edge

Round Lip - Breaks traction more easily and offers smoother transitions from grip to slide. Round lip wheels are generally preferred for freeriding.

Surface Type

Stone Ground - Perfect for freeride. With zero break-in needed, stone ground wheels slide much easier than smooth wheels, right out of the cellophane.

Wheel Features

Slide Formula - These wheels have been specially formulated to allow for the maximum amount of smooth, chatter free slide.

Cosmic Core - The Cosmic core increases roll speed and provides better control through slides.

Durometer

75a - These are about as soft as it gets. They offer a smooth ride, ideal for cruising.

Sector 9 Butterball Slide Formula Longboard Wheels - white (80a)
I bought the Sector 9 Butterball Wheel, Bacon Bits hardware, Bones bearings, Gulwing Charger II trucks and a Jessup sheet. The combination is an almost frictionless, smooth ride.

Sector 9 Butterball Slide Formula Longboard Wheels - white (80a)
Sector 9 hit the jackpot with these wheels. Being 80a the butterballs aren't too soft or too hard. The Butterballs have a nice smooth quiet slide to them. When sliding the Butterballs are not choppy or loud with friction resistance. The Butterballs leave thane on almost every single surface in my town. The only cons i saw with the Butterballs is that they wear pretty fast, also when you are near the core they began to chunk. But all in all i would buy these again and again.

How is the new 75a formula?
Answered by Graig A (Tactics Employee) on 4/19/2017
They are going to give you a similar feel and slide to the 80s but just have that extra grip for when you are really needing a speed check or take a corner and not slide
