CAPiTA Mega Death Snowboard
bought this board a couple weeks ago and have been riding it every day since. Ive enjoyed it so much that I thought I should leave a review since there were none.
Its an expensive board so hopefully this helps somebody whose on the fence but youre looking for the best freeride board on the market. I have gotten the chance to ride it on everything from 15 of pow, packed powder, icy east coast conditions, in the trees, park runs, firm moguls & flat traverses etc. There is nothing it cant do.. I am coming off of a Capita Green Machine which is a great board but its built mostly for freestyle park runs instead of pow and high octane all mountain freeriding. This board is stiff but still has great pop.. it floats pow effortlessly and holds an edge while carving till your dragging your nipples. Its super lightweight while remaining incredibly solid and stable especially at high speeds. It has an incredible ability to project your speed/energy through your turns and its so precise that this thing could carve your name in a sheet of ice.. Any time Ive had to ride through slow flat traverse type trails this board makes easy work of it passing people like theyre standing still and carrying your speed so well that youll never get stuck again. Megadeath greatly benefits from a stiff boot and binding combo, which I didnt have at first since I carried over my previous setup which is very soft for park riding. Last week I upgraded my bindings to the strapped Union Atlas and a stiffer boot. Without them I was probably leaving at least 30% of the boards performance on the table. If your looking for a single board that can do it all - float pow like a boss - carve & bomb runs like a psycho - throw it down freestyle - while remaining stable and inspiring confidence anywhere on the mountain This board is for you. Now if your not an experienced expert or better this board will more than likely have its way with youIts not for everybody, as the name implies the board is hardcore.
After a couple weeks with Megadeath Ive gotten a good feel for it with or without a stiff setup and it still rips no matter what but once you do get your setup dialed on this thing it is the ultimate weapon.
