Nike SB Zoom Nyjah 4 | Shoe Review
"Nyjah delivers again."
The fourth iteration of Nyjah Hustion's pro model shoe features breaks away from the predecessors and brings in some new bold features. We met up with team rider and Nike SB expert Dakota Mead-Shikaly to take the Nike SB Nyjah 4 shoes into the streets and tell us what he thinks.
The similar all-rubber style in the high wear zones is bolstered with Nike SB's "Hart rubber" which is a new abrasion resistant material that they first used on the PS8 shoe. Breathable mesh on the vamp and around the collar and lace panels keep the shoe breathable and lightweight. Inside the sole we have the biggest Zoom Air bag to date, which provides ample impact protection for your heels so you can hop on those gnarly handrails like 'Jah. There is a seemless junction between the rubber of the outsole and the rubber on the toebox, giving the shoe a nice and consistent flick, and on the back there is a TPU heel cup to privide structure and stability.
The first impression of the fit is that it is slightly wider in the toebox than the first three Nyjah models, which made them more comfortable out of the box and took less stretching out to break in. Dakota skated the shoes for a little over a week, totalling about 8 hours of skateboarding and the shoes took minimal damage compared to a regular suede shoe. The Hart rubber is extremely durable and able to withstand lots of technical skateboarding. This is an all around well-designed shoe for skateboarding and will work well for all styles.
