Holden has struck the perfect combo between a shell and insulated jacket for a sleek feminine design that provides warmth without having to look like the Michelin Man, you know what we're talking about, we're past those childhood days of our parents dressing us like walking marshmallows during snow days. Its stylish look and mountain-worthy features allow the Shelter jacket to transition effortlessly between city strolls and hillside shredding. So if you're looking for a quality all-in-one jacket, then you're looking in the right place.
Fully Taped - Having outerwear with fully taped seams means that on the inside of the jacket all the seams are covered in tape to provide the most effective waterproofing. It can be considered a key feature if you live in a wet climate or are planning on wearing the jacket during heavy rains. The downside is that due to the full taping there is less breathability than you'd experience with critically taped seams.
Polyester Fill - Polyester insulation may not be as warm or light as down, but it's far easier to clean and performs better in wet conditions. If cost is a concern or you live in a wet climate then polyester insulation might be your best option.
Synthetic insulation is measured in grams, so a jacket with a 80g rating simply means that a 1 meter by 1 meter piece of that particular jacket's insulation weighs 80 grams. The higher the rating, the warmer the outerwear.
Recycled Cord Adjusters - All Holden cord adjusters are made with recycled plastic.
Ships in Biodegradable Bag - Holden is all about eco-friendly processes, and that's why they ship their outerwear in a biodegradable bag.
Solvent Free DWR and Laminates - Solvent free laminates are treated with eco-friendly PFOA/PFOS free DWR. The process reduces all chemicals use in the traditional process and is safer for both the environment and the engineers and technicians.
YKK® Zippers - YKK® is synonymous with quality zippers, and that's why Holden uses them in their outerwear.
